I ordered this PC for my Dad so that he'd be able to play Far Cry 3 when it came out. I choose UKGC because they seemed to have a good reputation and I liked the idea of getting a computer from people who understood gaming PC’s. Any novice (like me) that's tried to jam an over sized graphics card into a computer with a power supply and that's too small will know what I'm getting at!

From their range, this seemed like the best PC to go for since he wouldn't need the extra features of i7 and we already had a decent graphics card (Nvidia 560 GTX) which I could install myself easily. I also asked for the RAM to be bumped up to 8GB, for a slightly bigger power supply (as I've had this part fail in the past) and for the Xigmatek Asgard Pro case. All in all, including Windows 7, this came to just under £600 and I'm fairly confident I couldn't source all the parts myself for this much.

After placing my order I was regularly updated as to the status of the PC build. After about 5 days I heard that they'd finished sourcing the parts for the PC and after another 5 days it arrived (very well packaged). The best, most surprising, part is that they'd actually upgraded two components free of charge: obviously they had had trouble sourcing the original components and had done this to fulfil the order in time. The processor was boosted from a 3450 (3.1 GHz) to a 3470 (3.2 GHz with more Intel features) and they gave me the case with a clear side window. Very impressed.

The PC itself works very well and was optimised for its SSD. A quick Far Cry 2 benchmark gave me 250 fps on the default settings. In short, this PC is highly upgradeable and gives you maximum flexibility. I can't recommend UKGC highly enough.

Mike
